Running is fun for me. I think it is a nice way to get away from life for a little while. No cell phone, no internet access, just wind in your hair, and the road beneath your feet. Of course that is when you are running by yourself. When you get 800 other people jogging along next to you, it gets a tad competitive. The Run for Hospice 5k was today, I ran in it, made good time. 9:50 miles. Not as fast as say my high school days. 30:36 grand total on my time. Finished 588 out of 800ish... not the best, but pretty good right?

I tried to pace myself. I set goals, found someone who looked like they were keeping a good pace. Well I slowed down as time went by, but towards the end, I pulled my act together and pushed towards the end. I like saving an extra little burst of speed for the end. You get there, and there are probably 100 people all gathered around looking for those loved ones, and you wow them by zipping past a whole bunch of people.

I ran past one person, they didnt want to get passed so they pushed a little harder too. Well something came over me, I plowed on as well, amazing myself.

Anywho, I urge everyone to try to be a little more active than they are today, it can only do your body good, and keep you around a little longer to enjoy the wonders of life.

Who are you going to vote for? NY is going to Kerry. People in the swing states see a presidential commercial, every time there is a break in the programming.

I haven't had a chance to watch the last debate yet, I tivo'd it, will probably watch it later tonight. On many fronts I don't think Bush is doing the best job that he could. I wouldn't vote for him if there was a better canidate. Yet I don't have the confidence in Kerry. I feel he is doing so well in the polling because of the anti-bush people. They would vote for anyone running against Bush. It is just sad. Take a look at key issues, like the budget, the continued war in Iraq, and other things like abortion.

The war in Iraq must continue, else we'll look bad, and it could send the middle east into more turmoil. Kerry is only stating that if he could do it over again he wouldnt go to war. So thats a dumb point.

Budget? Both are talking about tax cuts. I'd rather give up my measly 300-500 dollars, to ensure that the budget is balanced. Its a lot of money to some, others nothing at all.

I guess I just see them as very similar in many instances. So why not keep the same captian on the ship and let him sail us through the next 4 years. I think there are much more interesting debates and issues at stake in a local environment. So pay more attention to the local people. Else you could end up with a brand new fast ferry, that sits at the dock. Its a nice boat, but I didnt want my tax money to go to it, did you?
