Starting to slack off a little on the rants right? Anywho... guess what I did this morning? Went and had three of my teeth pulled. You know the ones with all the wisdom in them. I was a little nervous, but overall I figured hey novacane, and nitrous oxide, how can I go wrong right? I was more nervous about the after effects. You know the part where the novacane wheres off, and the pain kicks in, and lasts for at least 3 or 4 days. Well I sat down in the chair, and the nurse pops on some pure oxygen, nice. Then the doctor comes in and kicks on the nitrous, whew, a little sweet smelling, so I was cautious. Numbing gel is applied, and well I feel like my tounge swells to the size of my mouth, and then the novacane shots come, a few little pinches, but this is some powerful novacane, with a little adrenaline for kicks. He says anytime I feel a little pain, or whatever, just take a nice deep breath. We wait a few moments for me to let it all kick in. I ask them a few questions, how long will this take? About 30 minutes he says. How many people crack up and say hilarious things while they get this stuff? A few, had one last week who was pretty funny. The doctor obviously make a cut, and rips out the first tooth, I didnt really feel anything cool. Half way through the second tooth, I decide to test some things out and breath through my mouth a little bit... Well the nitrous isnt as effective that way, so I start to care, I mean I dont feel anything, but I notice more that drilling and sawing is going on for the tough lower tooth. Well I dont like caring, so I take a few deep breaths and whew, its nice... just sorta makes the world blend away, and I just dont care. My feet are tingly, my hands are too, and everything is fine. Last tooth comes out smooth, and its over. Back to pure oxygen, and things start clearing up. Now I'm home, and wishing the novacane would wear off quicker, but kinda wish it would last till I'm all healed, so we'll see. Wish me luck. :)

I never really thought about it till last night really, but chess is kinda like the super bowl isnt it? We have a head coach who is the king, and running the show, and then the quarterback running all the plays, kinda like a queen, and then recievers, running backs, and then the front line. An infinite possibility of moves, and all ending with someone being checkmated. Either its decided early, and you need to play it out, or it can run down to the wire. Course I think that the grand master chess tournaments commercials are probably a tad boring and less expensive huh? How many football players play chess and kick some butt at it? Why do you think oakland messed up so bad? I think they needed to stop wasting so much time. Last part of the game they were still wasting 30-45 seconds getting setup and starting a play. If they just did some kind of hurry up offense, and memorize a string of plays to run, they could have moved more. In many ways then football can be even more dangerously exciting and challenging than chess. Of course I wouldnt want to be the player on the field, get me one of those cool microphones on the sidelines anyday.
